Freshly roasted goodness in St. Peters by Sample Coffee

All is quiet and mellow in Surry Hills on a Sunday morning. You surely sense the slow mood as you walk around the area. With the easy flow of traffic, it is also a perfect day to explore other parts of Sydney. On this occasion I made a quick dash to Sample Coffee Pro Shop in St. Peters, a suburb of the Marrickville local council area, located six kilometres south west of Sydney.

If you are catching the train from the city, best to head to Sydenham train station which is only three stops away from Central station. From Sydenham you have a leisurely ten minute walk up along Unwins Bridge Road before you hit Mary Street.

Sample Coffee Pro Shop was recently opened by Surry Hills’ Sample Coffee owner Ruben Mardan. The design of his new cafe is clean, uncluttered, with light wooden benches, stools and tables. The high white walls are brought to life with interesting artworks and smart shelving that exhibits home-brewing equipment to entice you, like Kalita-wave, Chemex and Hario pieces. The coffee bar where the brewing is on show takes centre stage in teasing all your senses.

The coffee that is freshly roasted on site is smooth and delicious just like they serve at the Surry Hills shop, but the new addition offers an element of harmony that allows you to relax while you enjoy your coffee. The menu is sure to grab your attention, it is easy to follow with eye catching choices. We could not go past the slow cooked beef and provolone sandwich with a side of pickles. The beef was moist, soft and wisely smothered with a delicious sweet sauce that will blow you away.
